Cranio Sacral Therapy is a hands-on, gentle touch approach that releases tension, pain and dysfunction deep in your body where past physical or emotional trauma is held but may have gone unnoticed. This therapy enhances your body’s own healing abilities.
CranioSacral Therapy was developed over one hundred years ago by an osteopath named Dr. William Sutherland (1873-1954), who dedicated his life to advancing the art of osteopathy.
He investigated the body’s mechanical function to identify the living anatomy—the flow of cranial fluids, texture of tissues, compression of bones, etc. Dr. Sutherland did more to advance the concepts of “self-healing” than any other osteopath of his generation.
"Allow physiologic function within to manifest its own unerring potency rather than apply a blind force from without." -Dr. Sutherland
As a certified CranioSacral Therapist, I work with the whole body including the skull, spine, sacrum, diaphragm and fascia (the connective tissue that covers the entire body).
Using my hands as fine tuned tools, I am able to detect disturbances in the CranioSacral rhythm to help identify areas of restriction or dysfunction.
CranioSacral Therapy can help with the following:
CranioSacral sessions are conducted with the client fully clothed. I recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment. We will begin with a consultation to determine how to best support your needs as well as answer any of your questions. During our discussion we will establish your intention for the session as well as set a personal goal for healing.
At the end of the session your body will need to integrate the work. Then you will feel more aligned, centered and vitalized. From this natural state of being we are able to effect profound change and shift, expand our awareness, and create new patterns for health going forward.
CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle touch approach to therapeutic bodywork that can create dramatic improvements in your body and life. CranioSacral Therapy helps release tensions deep in the connective tissue to relieve pain and physical dysfunction as well as improve whole-body health and performance.
